Aftercare Fellows assist our Aftercare teams with Aftercare programming for a variety of casework types. Aftercare fellowships will involve some of the following responsibilities. Other relevant duties will be assigned by the Field Office Director and/or Director of Aftercare. 

  • Conduct research and impact assessments on how IJM Aftercare interventions affect IJM clients;
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with aftercare providers, under the direction and guidance of the Director of Aftercare;
  • In collaboration with IJM Global Aftercare and the Director of Aftercare, draft best practices for rehabilitation and reintegration of IJM clients;
  • Coordinate and evaluate the effectiveness of IJM Aftercare projects;
  • Travel with IJM staff to meet with IJM clients and work with area leaders;
  • In collaboration with IJM Global Aftercare and the Director of Aftercare, assist in the continued development of a comprehensive aftercare strategy for IJM;
  • Participate in the program design of IJM Aftercare programs;
  • Complete professional writing assignments including grant proposals, program proposals, and program update reports;
  • Provide support, mentoring, logistical and/or administrative assistance to IJM Aftercare staff, under the direction of the Director of Aftercare.

Church Mobilization Fellows assist the church mobilization team. This position involves the following tasks and responsibilities as well as other relevant duties assigned by the Supervisor or Field Office Director.

  • Secure opportunities for IJM to conduct training for churches, community leaders and the general population;
  • Develop and deliver sound theological messages on the biblical call of justice to churches;
  • Network/develop key relationships with denominational leaders, civic leaders and pastors;
  • Work with existing partnerships in your field office;
  • Track monthly targets and maintain reporting dashboard;
  • Maintain promotional materials inventory and ledger; and
  • Other departmental support as needed.

Communication fellowships will involve most of the following responsibilities. Other relevant duties will be assigned by the Field Office Director or supervisor.

  • Serve as an internal, entrepreneurial reporter to capture the stories and news items that describe the work of IJM;
  • Identify and develop stories about IJM programs to be used for a variety of mediums;
  • Check facts and use research skills to help put IJM's work into regional and global context;
  • Build relationships with key local media;
  • Create and maintain press release list with local and national newspapers and magazines; and
  • Travel, as needed, to meet with IJM field staff to gather stories and news items.
  • Prior work experience in Communications, Media or Public Relations;
  • Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Windows XP;
  • Experience networking with International and National NGO's, CBO's, faith-based communities, and local government; and
  • Oral fluency in Spanish strongly preferred for Latin America field offices.

Government and Community Relations Fellow tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Draft training content and logistical support for NGO Trainings;
  • Assist in evaluation and upgrading of NGO Training content;
  • Develop content for Community Relations programs and campaigns;
  • Maintain the Community Relations documentation and track monthly targets;
  • Help in the planning and implementation of Advocacy team events;
  • Provide Administrative support to the community relations team’s activities; and
  • Represent IJM at NGO Network and Government Network meetings if necessary.

Investigations Fellows assist our Investigations or Law Enforcement Development teams with the following responsibilities.  Other relevant duties will be assigned by the Field Office Director or supervisor.

  • Develop and train Investigations Staff in investigations techniques;
  • Assist the Investigations staff in case development and case management;
  • Assist in the review of case investigations and provide appropriate feedback;
  • Compile criminal intelligence, enter the information in the intelligence database and analyze the intelligence to provide investigative leads to the Investigations Staff;
  • Assist in operations planning, risk assessment and risk management; and
  • Carry out an additional portfolio of assignments given by the Director of Investigations or the Field Office Director.

Legal Fellows assist our national lawyers and legal teams with the following responsibilities.  Other relevant duties will be assigned by the Field Office Director or supervisor.

  • Research legal issues and write briefs that will assist in rescuing and protecting victims (varies by casework type);
  • Assist in developing best practice documents based on casework experience;
  • Assist with case intake;
  • Develop and conduct presentations and legal training sessions;
  • Input case details into Casework Tracking Management System;
  • Participate in legal strategy meetings; and
  • Participate in rescue planning sessions.

The overall purpose of the Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Fellow role is to assist field office leadership in the design, monitoring and/or evaluation of projects.  Specific emphasis on DME components will largely be based on the project life cycle in a field office.

 

Design

  • Coordinate the program design team (set the design process; schedule, organize and follow-up on workshops and meetings);
  • Participate in the design process (conduct desk research, meet stakeholders, define program scope and focus, contribute to design workshops and meetings);
  • Oversee proposal drafting (coordinate writing of the proposal, write specific sections, collate/edit others’ contributions, draft logframes and other supporting components); and
  • Oversee proposal submission (synchronize with submission schedule, meet agreed deadlines).

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Develop new/revised data monitoring systems for gathering and analyzing project data on key program indicators
  • Coordinate the collection, analysis and communication of project data (e.g., conduct data quality audits or quality assurance assessments; capture, synthesize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data;  present results effectively to internal managers and external stakeholders)
  • Oversee/lead/develop structure for quarterly program reviews (attendance, process, inputs to IJM change control system, updates to program plans;
  • Oversee management and revision of Monitoring & Evaluation Plan (methods to identify trends from monitoring data that could impact project outcomes; methods to update it based on project changes or lessons learned); and
  • Prepare relevant monitoring data for internal quarterly program review sessions.
