This position is to support the 2018 Gathering taking place September 28th- October 5th, 2018. This will be the largest gathering of IJM staff, and the events team will be responsible for all logistics, travel, experience, programming and volunteers for all events related to this project. The goal of this event is to worship God for the miraculous work over the last 20 years, to love one another, connect and provide delight for the IJM staff.

This role is primarily in support the Global Travel project of brining the 1,000 person global team to the event, and the Operations Manager with logistics for the event. This will include project management support, supporting specific projects. Specifically with the Global Travel project supporting multiple field offices in obtaining visas for travel and preparation for arrival.

Accounting/Finance interns assist their department with monitoring and support of finances in both Headquarters and international field offices. College students, recent graduates and graduate students with classes in accounting, finance or business are preferred for these positions. Although tasks vary depending on the nature of the work in progress during the internship, interns can expect their tasks to include:

  • Processing expense reports, including payment requests, credit card reports and cash advance reconciliations;
  • Preparing and recording financial data from expense reports in IJM's accounting system;
  • Assisting in the review of monthly financial reports for completeness, accuracy and compliance with policy;
  • Researching various regulatory and procedural matters for the finance department; and
  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support.

Aftercare Interns assist Aftercare staff with tasks related to IJM’s Aftercare work around the world. Candidates who have completed or are pursuing a graduate degree in Social Work are preferred. This internship is best for those interested in gaining an experience in macro-level social work; it does not provide clinical experience. Although tasks vary depending on the nature of the work in progress during the internship, Aftercare Interns can expect their tasks to include:

  • Researching and preparing memorandums on best practices, policies and procedures regarding casework-specific aftercare issues;
  • Developing continuing education modules for IJM Field Office Aftercare staff;
  • Providing support for the Survivor Scholarship Program; and
  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support.

Aftercare Fellows assist our Aftercare teams with Aftercare programming for a variety of casework types. Aftercare fellowships will involve some of the following responsibilities. Other relevant duties will be assigned by the Field Office Director and/or Director of Aftercare. 

  • Conduct research and impact assessments on how IJM Aftercare interventions affect IJM clients;
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with aftercare providers, under the direction and guidance of the Director of Aftercare;
  • In collaboration with IJM Global Aftercare and the Director of Aftercare, draft best practices for rehabilitation and reintegration of IJM clients;
  • Coordinate and evaluate the effectiveness of IJM Aftercare projects;
  • Travel with IJM staff to meet with IJM clients and work with area leaders;
  • In collaboration with IJM Global Aftercare and the Director of Aftercare, assist in the continued development of a comprehensive aftercare strategy for IJM;
  • Participate in the program design of IJM Aftercare programs;
  • Complete professional writing assignments including grant proposals, program proposals, and program update reports;
  • Provide support, mentoring, logistical and/or administrative assistance to IJM Aftercare staff, under the direction of the Director of Aftercare.

Communication fellowships will involve most of the following responsibilities. Other relevant duties will be assigned by the Field Office Director or supervisor.

  • Serve as an internal, entrepreneurial reporter to capture the stories and news items that describe the work of IJM;
  • Identify and develop stories about IJM programs to be used for a variety of mediums;
  • Check facts and use research skills to help put IJM's work into regional and global context;
  • Build relationships with key local media;
  • Create and maintain press release list with local and national newspapers and magazines; and
  • Travel, as needed, to meet with IJM field staff to gather stories and news items.
  • Prior work experience in Communications, Media or Public Relations;
  • Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Windows XP;
  • Experience networking with International and National NGO's, CBO's, faith-based communities, and local government; and
  • Oral fluency in Spanish strongly preferred for Latin America field offices.

  • Identify and develop stories and news items on IJM programs for HQ materials such as: News from the Field, IJM Justice Briefings, Quarterly Reports, web updates, fundraising pieces, PowerPoint presentations and IJM speeches;
  • Check facts and use research skills to help put IJM work into regional and global context;
  • Draft press releases after significant events for local media;
  • Maintain a file containing articles in newspapers and internet of interest;
  • Conduct field research and write issue-focused stories to highlight IJM's work;
  • Research, compile and analyze information of use for the office in the area of communications;
  • Arrange interviews and establish contacts with entities, civil servants and social/media operators, etc;
  • Develop documents based on studies, surveys and interviews of information subjects; and
  • Other departmental support as needed.

The Corporate Security team is in charge of the safety and security of IJM personnel and clients worldwide. Although tasks vary depending on the nature of the work in progress during the internship, Corporate Security interns can expect their tasks to include:

  • Compiling daily briefs for senior leaders based on open source news sites which summarize key current events around the world that could impact IJM’s operations;
  • Assisting in coordinating course logistics for specialized safety and security trainings;
  • Researching and preparing memoranda regarding threat assessments and crisis response plans;
  • Tracking and reporting on security developments in regions of the world where IJM has offices;
  • Completing research assignments assigned by Director of Corporate Security to provide in-depth reports of latest safety and security threats to IJM's work;
  • Assist in tracking the Field Offices' compliance with IJM Security Manual policies and procedures through check-ins with Field Office security personnel

IJM is seeking a Director of Data Science to serve as a key player on a new justice data science team to guide investment in and management of its global programming portfolio. This positon will lead a team who will effectively and actively ensure the conversion of data into value that will further IJM’s mission. Position will be based at IJM’s headquarters, will deploy periodically to program sites, and will report to the Vice President of Program Design, Research, and Evaluation.

International Justice Mission (IJM) is an international organization working to protect some of the most vulnerable and oppressed people from violent forces of injustice by securing rescue and restoration for victims and ensuring public justice systems work for the poor. 

 

IJM is seeking a dynamic and proactive individual with law enforcement expertise to lead IJM in conducting and monitoring the investigation of human trafficking for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation of minors in the Dominican Republic.  The Director of Investigations and Law Enforcement Development (DILED) will also advance efforts to build the capacity of Dominican law enforcement personnel to effectively investigate sex trafficking cases, rescuing victims applying victim-sensitive methods, and arresting suspects for their prosecution.

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a professional Director of Investigations and Law Enforcement Development (DILED) to lead IJM’s ILED team in Thailand to combat forced labor trafficking in Thailand.  The DILED is responsible for developing, executing, and leading support to local Law Enforcement Officials (LEOs) investigating forced labor trafficking, helping to ensure victims are rescued and perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted.  The DILED will lead law enforcement development strategies and activities, including training curriculum development and casework mentorship.  The successful candidate must have a solid background in criminal investigations and possess strong communication skills, be able to thrive in a dynamic environment, and be passionate about seeking justice.
