After nearly two decades of continued growth and operational success in pioneering the work of protecting the poor from violence, IJM has become an $80 million organization with 1000 global employees. As IJM continues this trajectory of growth and scaling of its impact, IJM is seeking a People Operations Director to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies and activities of the Global People Operations function and ensure implementation of IJM’s people operations strategy.

 

This position reports to the Chief People Officer, who is located in the Washington DC area. This position location may be flexible for a period of time.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global people operations strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall organization vision and program goals resulting in high performance culture and increased employee engagement;
  • Oversee the planning and execution of Workday implementation, establish and maintain solid global HR operations processes and ensure staff, managers and HR are trained and equipped;
  • Lead the work of developing and implementing IJM’s global HR organizational model;
  • Create a collaborative and global working culture with IJM’s HR professionals;
  • Monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures and ensure legal compliance to nurture a positive working environment;
  • Ensure a culture of excellent HR support;
  • Proactively develop strategic partnership with senior management;
  • Serve as an active GPS leadership team member that takes responsibility for the whole; and
  • Hire and develop a team of highly competent employees that flourish in their roles.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in human resources or organizational development highly preferred;
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the HR field and minimum of 5 years in a leadership position;
  • Extensive experience working in a global environment;
  • Ability to lead organizational transformation;
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic planning and management for results;
  • Ability to frequently travel to other offices within the region; and
  • Experience with HRIS implementation.
