As IJM continues this trajectory of growth and scaling of its impact, the Vice President, IT PMO is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join the IT Program Management Office.

 

The primary responsibility of this position is to support and deliver established standards for integrated planning and execution of enterprise-wide technology products. For the next 2-3 years, this role will specifically lead IJM’s Global Rollout of Workday HCM/FIN and will direct a Jr. Technical Project Manager and Sr. Change Lead, as well as have access to other PM resources to manage the size and scale of this Program.  Success will involve ensuring alignment of global operational HR and Finance processes and policies with 50+ stakeholders across the organization, to deliver solutions that meet program objectives.  Success will also be measured by the effective delivery of the program within agreed scope, schedule and budget. This position will require international travel (20%) to support the effective global rollout of Workday.

 

This position is based at IJM Headquarters in the Washington, DC area and reports to the Vice President, IT PMO.

Responsibilities

Global Rollout of Workday HCM/FIN Product

  • Responsible for the on-time, on-budget, and on-scope delivery of the Global Workday Program;
  • Lead business and technical stakeholders (in-house and third party) to implement a large-scale Workday enterprise configuration, beginning with Global HR/FIN Process Blueprinting (2019) and ending with the global reconfiguration and deployment of Workday to all applicable overseas locations (2020-2022);
  • Oversee all project workstreams, including any third-party vendors, business readiness, technical build, data migration, technical training, change management, and operational support planning;
  • Relentless focus on driving stakeholders to prioritize business constraints, functionality and requirements that lead to measurable impact to improve the employee experience and business efficiencies, ROI/assessment of impact;
  • Set and manage a ~$10M/5 year global implementation budget;
  • Advise IJM Executive Leadership in the design and implementation of a scalable, effective Global Platforms for the entire organization;
  • Manage all new and ongoing vendor relationships for the Workday program, including request for proposals, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and program dependencies such as integrations, data transfers, and ongoing feedback for continued improvements – serve as direct escalation point for vendor;
  • Enhance global technology through relationships with our onshore and offshore vendors and partners, driving all interactions and deliverables to maximize the value and ROI;
  • Oversee the development and execution of the project plan and related monitoring frameworks (charter, risk, issue, change logs, etc.) consistently and transparently communicating project risks, progress, launches and retrospectives across all stakeholders and teams;
  • Design and execute surveys to capture baseline KPIs for ROI analysis;
  • Lead the PMO Stage Gate and Change Request process for the Workday program; ensuring high program quality, accountability to standard and collaboration throughout; and
  • Develop and execute an effective change management and communication plan that leverages and empowers stakeholders to ensure successful system adoption with the most efficient use of company resources.

Enterprise-wide Technology Program & Project Management

  • Design and execute individual project plans and drive the prioritization process to ensure resources are aligned to organizational priorities;
  • Develop, implement and maintain the framework for organizational business process development to ensure technology architecture supports IJM’s strategic and tactical objectives;
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget, and on-specification delivery on program;
  • Lead the “Stage Gate” review process according to best practice to ensure program quality and stakeholder engagement throughout the project;
  • Manage the project budget and ensure that safe and ethical business practices are implemented and continuously adhered to throughout the project;
  • Lead project resource planning and forecasting for project of cross functional resources including program management, departmental staffing, 3rd party sourcing, etc;
  • Build collaborative relationships with IT vendors to ensure projects are delivered successfully and within approved budget;
  • Ensure that appropriate communications take place during the project throughout the global organization by facilitating regular meetings and proactively seeking feedback from stakeholders;
  • Ensure the health and vibrancy of the project team through mature leadership and appropriate mentoring, including the successful onboarding of project stakeholders;
  • Responsible for documenting lessons learned during the project for continuous improvement during the project and afterwards on future projects;
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set; and
  • Partner with GTS Leadership and organizational stakeholders to build and deliver projects to achieve programmatic outcomes and enable long- term global growth.

Requirements

  • Masters’ degree in Business or relevant field, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and certification;
  • 10+ years related professional experience;
  • 7+ years of technical project management experience;
  • 5+ years in business, including experience leading large, highly complex, multi-million-dollar global projects managing both internal stakeholders and external vendors;
  • Global HR/FIN business process reengineering experience, required; Six Sigma or related certifications preferred;
  • Portfolio/Program management experience, managing the input of multiple project streams for effective delivery of complex programs;
  • Relevant PMI Certification (PMP, PgMP) required;
  • Budget management experience for project portfolios between $10-30M required;
  • Relevant Change Management Certification (i.e., PROSCI) strongly preferred;
  • Experience directly managing cross-functional staff teams (remote and offsite), vendors, and stakeholders throughout an organizational hierarchy to successfully execute projects;
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with expertise in Executive briefings;
  • Experience securing, leveraging, managing, and holding accountable external vendors; and
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project-management software, such as Microsoft Project and Teamwork.
