  • The Need

    Now accepting applications for Spring 2019 Interns 

    Program Dates: January 14 - April 12

    Field Operations interns assist Field Operations staff with tasks related to IJM's casework around the world. College students, recent graduates and graduate students with degrees in International Relations or Political Science are preferred for these positions. Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred for our Latin America region. Although tasks vary depending on the nature of the work in progress during the internship, interns can expect their tasks to include:

    • Researching and preparing memoranda regarding country-specific issues, current events, department policies and procedures;
    • Preparing support materials for presentations and reports;
    • Compiling country or topic-related briefings, including background research, internal reports, relevant travel information and contact data;
    • Assisting with the analysis of monthly Field Office achievements and results; and
    • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support.

    This position will support one of the following regional teams: Africa, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Latin America. 

    Responsibilities

    IJM's Internship opportunities vary every session and look different in every office. Interns generally will assist a specific person or team. The positions involve the described tasks and responsibilities as well as other relevant duties that may be assigned by the Field Office Director or Supervisor.

     

    General Qualifications and Required Skills

    • Bachelor's degree is required for all internships and fellowships except any Washington, DC Internships (Bachelor's degree must be in progress for DC Internships and applicants need to have completed at least two years of undergraduate study).

    *What is a statement of faith?
    A statement of faith should describe your Christian faith and how you see it as relevant to your involvement with IJM. The statement can either be incorporated into the cover letter or submitted as a separate document and should include, at a minimum, a description of your spiritual disciplines (prayer, study, etc.) and your current fellowship or place of worship.
