IJM is seeking an experienced administrative professional with a passion for justice and supporting IJM’s mission to protect the global poor from violence. The Global People Support Division supports the development, scaling, protection, and care of our people and culture. This position will be responsible for supporting the Chief People Officer & General Counsel (CPOGC), VP of Spiritual Formation and Director of Programs and Strategy with a wide range of high-level administrative support. IJM is seeking a highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented individual who can represent the division and organization well to external parties and Executive-level management, and assist in developing and maintaining seamless operations to support the department’s operations. This position uses your organizational gifts to make an impact on IJM’s work and personnel globally.


This position is based at the headquarters office in Washington, D.C. and reports to the CPOGC.


Support for the CPOGC

  • Serve as liaison and primary point of contact between Global People Support and internal and external parties, appropriately routing inquiries and projects to interdepartmental team, working very closely with Strategy and Execution team;
  • Ensure the CPOGC’s attention to interdepartmental needs and requests;
  • Manage the CPOGC’s calendar, email communication, time reporting, financial approvals, Virginia Bar Association compliance, and priorities;
  • Facilitate the timely execution of the CPOGC’s responsibilities and objectives by designing and maintaining organizational tools and communication practices as well as briefing and preparing the CPOGC for meetings, deadlines, and projects;
  • Draft and edit correspondence on behalf of the CPOGC, including agendas, memoranda, reports, emails, and other documents to ensure excellent communication from Global People Support;
  • Coordinate development and delivery of CPOGC presentations and executive communication to internal and external audiences; and
  • Coordinate and manage all domestic and international travel logistics for the CPOGC.

Global People Support Project Support

  • Provide general administrative support for the VP of Spiritual Formation and Director of Programs and Strategy, including expenses, travel, scheduling, and team initiatives;
  • Assist Programs and Strategy team in divisional team meetings, off-sites, and retreats planning and execution;
  • Assist Program and Strategy team with administrative needs, as requested;
  • Provide administrative support in the creation and maintenance of the Global People Support SharePoint sites;
  • Maintain 1:1 agenda for CPOGC and the CPOGC’s direct reports and Senior Leadership team check-ins:
  • Assist in coordinating departmental onboarding of new staff; and
  • Coordinate celebrations within the division.

General IJM Support and Processes

  • Participate in IJM’s Executive Administration team, and contribute to organization-wide administration projects and process improvement as requested;
  • Closely collaborate with the Senior Leadership team and Executive Assistants to streamline information and improve information cascades; and
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.


  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and certification;
  • Minimum of three years of experience providing direct high-level administrative support to a senior executive in a fast-paced, professional environment;
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, experience with Microsoft SharePoint preferred;
  • Exemplary written and oral communication-- experience editing executive correspondence preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships and work as part of a team and comfort in interacting with all levels of management;
  • Demonstrated ability to earn and maintain trust in working relationships with regard to confidential and sensitive information;
  • Close attention to detail, the ability to manage many different tasks simultaneously and to organize and prioritize work effectively, and establish
