The Need

As International Justice Mission (IJM) seeks to protect the poor and rescue more victims of violence, we are seeking for the Church to be synonymous with justice and to drive our efforts forward. To that end, we are seeking a Freedom Sunday Coordinator with strong interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service to our church partners, deepening their engagement with IJM. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with many of IJM’s most faithful church partners as they lead their congregations into the fight for the end of slavery

 

This position is based at IJM Headquarters in the Washington, DC area and reports to the Director of Marketing & Church Engagement.

Responsibilities

Church Communication and Follow Up

  • Proactively contact pastors/church leaders via phone, email and mail to solicit their involvement in Freedom Sunday; 
  • Respond to incoming phone calls and emails regarding Freedom Sunday and information updates in a timely, professional manner;
  • Assist with the coordination, execution and improvement of key Freedom Sunday church retention and acquisition processes including mailings, reports and tracking;
  • Manage the church mobilization email accounts and respond in a timely manner with relevant and needed information; and
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of mailing all materials needed for Freedom Sunday.

Data Entry and Management

  • Maintain accurate gift records through monthly “soft-crediting” of donations to their respective Freedom Sunday service
  • Facilitate recurring donations via credit card and direct debit and follow-up with exceptions; 
  • Ensure accuracy of information in database including: updating contact information, assigning and maintaining codes, updating notes and actions, processing returned mail, and ensuring all connections/relationships are assigned; and
  • Facilitate and improve data entry for church partners throughout the year.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 6 months of professional experience; 
  • Prior experience in donor relations, customer service, sales or other similar roles preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; 
  • Exceptional ability in written and oral communications; 
  • Proven ability to provide professional customer service to a variety of constituents;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain accurate information;
  • Prior experience working with a donor database preferred; and
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Strong ethic of service; and
  • Team player with a sustained positive attitude.
