The Need

IJM is looking for an Advocacy & Mobilization Coordinator who will provide administrative support to the full Advocacy and Mobilization team. This individual will provide effective problem-solving and project coordination within a fast-paced, professional environment. The Advocacy & Mobilization Coordiantor will equip the Advocacy & Mobilization team to effectively recruit, equip, and develop top-notch volunteer leaders as IJM seeks to mobilize a movement to end modern day slavery in our lifetime.

 

This role is based in Washington DC and reports to the Senior Director of Advocacy & Mobilization.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support for Advocacy & Mobilization team

  • Assist in all areas of event planning, including logistics, shipping resources, participant inquiries, and follow-up; 
  • Coordinate department meetings and retreats including agenda creation, material preparation, equipment set-up, and arrangement of tech support;
  • Manage team inventory and reorder materials when necessary;
  • Ship resource requests as needed; and
  • Provide additional administrative support to the Senior Director, as needed.

Provide Program Support

  • Manage the Abolition Postcard Campaign, including resourcing outward-facing teams, shipping resources, processing returned postcards, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery; 
  • Serve as initial point of contact for incoming constituents interested in advocacy, volunteer, and college mobilization opportunities; 
  • Provide support with interviews for college chapter president interviews and reference checks for volunteer leaders;
  • Master data management systems; create and ensure implementation of efficient systems for data management and reporting for volunteers and college mobilization;
  • Assist team in keeping volunteer information and contacts updated and accurate; 
  • Provide reporting and data analysis to team to track impact;
  • Manage the Advocacy & Mobilization Intern; and
  • Manage headquarters volunteers, both day-time and monthly volunteer nights.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and/or education;
  • Minimum of and 1 – 2 years providing program coordination support and at least one-year experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced, professional environment;
  • Superior administrative capacity to manage a large number of projects and tasks simultaneously and to complete them with minimal oversight; 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data and systems with a high level of detail and accuracy; 
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; 
  • Ability to appropriately manage the complex nature of relationships within and outside of the organization; 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally; 
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office; 
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred; and
  • Experience with Eventbrite, Knowlegis, or CQ Engage a plus.

Travel Requirements

  • This position may require domestic travel once per quarter to support events.
