Aftercare Interns assist Aftercare staff with tasks related to IJM’s Aftercare work around the world. Candidates who have completed or are pursuing a graduate degree in Social Work are preferred. This internship is best for those interested in gaining an experience in macro-level social work; it does not provide clinical experience. Although tasks vary depending on the nature of the work in progress during the internship, Aftercare Interns can expect their tasks to include:

  • Researching and preparing memorandums on best practices, policies and procedures regarding casework-specific aftercare issues;
  • Developing continuing education modules for IJM Field Office Aftercare staff;
  • Providing support for the Survivor Scholarship Program; and
  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support.

IJM's Internship opportunities vary every session and look different in every office. Interns generally will assist a specific person or team.
