Global Business Solutions interns assist the Global Business Solutions team with tasks and projects related to IJM’s strategic planning, internal reporting, financial planning/analysis, grants management and procurement. Although specific tasks vary depending on the nature of the work in progress during the internship, interns can expect their tasks to include:

  • Assisting with project management of new initiatives, to include creating presentations and graphics, coordinating with stakeholders and helping to resolve challenges;
  • Assisting with the roll-up and presentation of organizational progress reports for IJM’s Senior Leadership Team;
  • Helping to develop and implement ways to track, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Global Business Solutions team’s activities;
  • Conducting research, as needed, on best practices in project management, strategic planning, grants management and strategic sourcing; and
  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support.


IJM's Internship opportunities vary every session and look different in every office. Interns generally will assist a specific person or team. The positions involve the described tasks and responsibilities as well as other relevant duties that may be assigned by the Field Office Director or Supervisor.


General Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree is required for all internships and fellowships except any Washington, DC Internships (Bachelor's degree must be in progress for DC Internships and applicants need to have completed at least three years of undergraduate study);

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and

  • Major in Business, Management or related degree is preferred.
