The Need

IJM is seeking a Social Media Marketing Manager. IJM’s Social Media Marketing Manager will create, sustain and grow a social movement to help end slavery. Using social media channels, we’re looking to inspire a generation and rally them in the fight for justice. The ideal person will be passionate, motivated and ready to turn the world upside down using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social channels. They should also be masterfully skilled in all things content strategy, community building and campaign creation.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement Social Media Strategy that creates revenue-generating online movement through:

  • Utilizing best practices to create, build and execute a social media strategy that complements the marketing strategy of the organization;
  • Capturing consumer and advisor insights to develop targeted content that speaks directly to their mindset and positions our products in fresh and compelling ways;
  • Creating relevant content strategy that increases online donations.

Execute Social Media Strategy that aligns with mission objectives by:

  • Coordinating with Project Manager on IJM campaigns to learn and develop campaign plans & strategy;
  • Ensuring daily management IJM social profiles to reflecting anti trafficking statistics and position IJM as a leader;
  • Overseeing execution and optimization of paid social buys;
  • Testing and optimize messaging, image/video options and posting formats;
  • Analyzing and optimize results and usage;
  • Acting as resource expert with IJM partner offices to provide social content and recommendations; and
  • Acting and providing consult as an internal subject matter expert on social media best practices.

Create and Manage Social Media content that will increase user engagement and affinity by:

  • Generating a production calendar and ensure that content aligns with organizational marketing strategy;
  • Working closely with team project managers and the Creative team, produce, create and edit innovative content in support of organizational goals;
  • Proactively identifying social trending moments and platform behaviors that the brand can tap into and leverage in daily content creation/conversation; and
  • Monitoring and engaging with key audiences, continually building an understanding of their user behavior and preferences on social platforms, and managing the voice and persona of the brand on social media.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BA degree or any equivalent combination of education, experience and certification;
  • 5 yrs. professional work experience with a minimum of 2 yrs. in social media marketing;
  • Experience managing a creative process from beginning to end (e.g. brief development to agency execution);
  • Experience working with a wide range of relationships and multiple stakeholders; 
  • Experience defining and implementing successful end-to-end social media marketing campaigns; 
  • Demonstrated ability to write compelling, creative copy for social media campaigns;
  • Competence in marketing goal setting, analytics and strategic marketing measurement; 
  • Demonstrated ability to meet demanding deadlines and manage tasks in a fast-paced work environment; and 
  • Promotional copywriting experience preferred.
