The Need

The Program Manager for Church Partnerships is responsible for providing project management and other support to IJM’s efforts to establish relationships and collaborative partnerships with denominations and Church networks worldwide. As a part of the Global Partnerships team, this role will also assist in creating vision for, and implementing, IJM’s Christian thought leadership strategy globally in close collaboration with IJM Partner Offices and Field Offices. This position will assist in developing a scalable strategy to increase financial support from churches around the world to $20M by 2020.

This position is based in Washington, D.C. and reports to the Global Director, Church Partnerships (GDCP).


Manage the implementation of strategy to influence and engage global Church institutions:

  • Contribute to the strategy to influence the thought leadership of the global Church;
  • Alongside the GDCP, and in collaboration with Partner Offices and Field Offices, assist in the development of a scalable church-to-church partnership program that increases engagement and financial support from churches around the world;
  • Manage CRM and finance records for current and prospective leads, contacts, and projects/grants;
  • Assist the GDCP in identification, assessment, and stewardship of relationships and partnerships with global Church leaders and institutions;
  • Manage implementation of tactical plan and reporting process in collaboration with the relevant teams;
  • Curate and manage all documentation related to Church Partnerships;
  • Develop and manage the design process for all collateral related to the Church Partnerships team;
  • Project manage (and assist in) the development of resources related to the Church Partnerships team – studies, speeches, presentations, publications, etc.;
  • Project manage external content developers, as needed;
  • Liaison with publishing houses to project manage publishing projects;
  • Coordinate, manage, and provide logistical support to Church Partnerships events – domestic and international;
  • Manage or support the meetings between the GDCP and IJM leadership;
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Church Partnerships related information sharing internally; and
  • Supervise Church Partnerships volunteer and interns, as needed.

Travel Requirement

  • This position may require up to 20% travel – domestic and international.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree in business or other social sciences preferred;
  • Project management certification, and/or knowledge of M&E;
  • Professional with 5+ years of experience working with global organizations, managing multiple projects and deadlines with diverse teams, and developing major funding or partnership proposals;
  • Desirable: Experience with global Christian organizations and denominations;
  • Experience in developing proposals for institutional funders;
  • Skilled presenter/communicator – verbal and written;
  • Excellent organizational skills, with demonstrated experience planning and executing strategic events; and
  • Exceptional capacity to accurately and objectively assess and evaluate complex projects, and make appropriate recommendations.
