We’re seeking a Communications Project and Operations Manager to help drive the success of our communications and brand projects through stellar project management and operational support. The position will also focus on the development and implementation of processes and systems that eliminate inefficiencies and remove barriers to collaboration and innovation within the Brand and Communications, as well as support the Vice President in leading the Brand and Communications team.

 

This position is based at IJM headquarters in the Washington, DC area (recently named the coolest city in America by Forbes) and reports to the Vice President, Brand and Communications.

Responsibilities

Project Management for Impact

  • Provide leadership for communications initiatives including project plan and timeline development, stakeholder engagement, project budget management, oversight of vendor relationships, and organizational change management; and
  • Provide project management for special projects assigned by the Vice President, Brand and Communication or the Global Director, Brand + Storytelling.

 
Champion Systems and Processes for Organizational Efficiency

  • Identify roadblocks, bottlenecks, and risks in communications processes and systems and implement solutions that enable the team to run in a predictable and efficient manner; and
  • Refine systems across teams and ensure clarity on process, roles, and responsibilities, including working with the Global Director, Brand + Storytelling on rolling out and managing the RAPID decision-making model.

 

Budget Management, Reporting, and Support of the Vice President

  • Manage the Brand and Communication team budget and equip the Vice President, Brand and Communication with necessary information to make appropriate budget decisions; and
  • Manage calendar requests for the Senior Vice President, including managing team and leadership team meeting rhythms.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in project management and operations;
  • Project management certification is a plus;
  • Experience managing budgets is an asset;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with strong prioritization skills;
  • Extensive experience developing efficient systems and processes with an orientation towards building simple, streamlined solutions;
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills; and
  • High level of proficiency Microsoft Office required; proficiency with Sharepoint strongly preferred.
